Wassssssuuuuup

What have we been up to....

Friday we spent some time with Brad and Derrien and our small group from church. Brad and Derrien once AGAIN graciously offered to watch our children for us. We've had quite the bad luck finding sitters lately. We sure could use some Auntie Kim and Jen(n)'s in town...!!!

Saturday I worked and Dave took the girls to Toys R Us to pick up something from their flyer. They've been saving their allowance since the summer for MP3 players. They really want to use them on their long bus ride. Unfortunately, (as my luck always is at Toys R Us), as usual, we called Friday night and they had tons.....Dave got there Saturday morning.....and none. Not one! I think I may have to start boycotting. Nothing bugs me more than stores that have things in their flyer but then have none when you go! Especially after I called!!!! GRR!

Saturday afternoon the girls had gymnastics and Dave and Rachel were off to buy our new computer. Our old one konked out on us and we figured by the time we were done paying for them to find out what was wrong and then fixing our 6 yr old computer it was probably almost as cheap just to buy a new one. (!!! ok, maybe not quite as cheap!!!).

Saturday night we had a great time playing games with Jen and her new beau, Mark. We're just getting to know him and he's a lot of fun. Great sense of humour and......competitive!!!!!! :0) So he fits right in! Thanks for a great time, Jen and Mark!

Sunday we enjoyed a great service and message at church (www.communityfellowship.org). My old drama team (sniff sniff....miss you guys!!!) did a great drama that involved a small group getting together and every time someone said something they really shouldn't have they got to ring the bell, go back and correct their statement. I think I should walk around with one of those bells on my belt!! Soooooo often during a day I need to ring the bell, go back and correct a sarcastic remark I've made!!!! (and I think I should buy Natalie one too!!!!!.....oops........."ding").

Our second small group.....or coffee cult...as we so affectionately call them, met and even had an alumni member come who was in town from Georgia. Our lovely hosts welcomed our whole crazy group for lunch so we could visit a while longer. (Thanks Katy and Jerry!).

Now, after the weekend, we're back to the grind. We've been helping Madelyn get some info on the naked mole rat.....her choice for a school project. Those things have to be the creepiest things I've ever seen!!!!

Last night at work I had a little visit from the Mayor. He used to work at our office. He's quite the friendly guy. He gave me a 15 minute lesson on politics in the US because he was heading home to watch it on tv. What a guy. I've met him a few times now, he usually says "Hi, do you know who I am".....so this time I laid it on thick......"Well, Hello Mr. Epp, how are you tonight! Nice that you could come by!!!" tee hee......I'm good! ;0) No really, he's a nice man.....very chatty!

Well, I'm off to get my littlest monkey some lunch......"bread with only butter" is the usual request for the day. Let's hope it's not a sign that she'll feel comfortable in prison one day!!

Toodles!

Too bad about those MP3 players. Let me know if you need me to check out the Toys R Us stores in Ottawa.

Looking forward to next weekend, Kris (a whole weekend of shopping, with good deals and no husbands to peer over our shoulders...I must be dreaming)!! ;)
