A scolding for Rachel

I arrived at school today to pick Rachel up and Mr. Eadie, her teacher, asked me if I could stay for a minute so he could chat with me. UH OH! One of the other moms leaned over to me and said "I always hate when he says that....I usually check to see that my boys (she has twin 4yr olds) are still wearing the same pants because often it means they've had an accident". Well, Rachel was still wearing her jeans, and accidents aren't a usual thing for her. So, I held my breath and awaited the verdict.

Mr. Eadie: "We had to have a little chat today, didn't we Rachel"
Rachel (looking down): "yes"
Mr. Eadie: "We had a chat about kissing"
Mom (attempting not to smirk, since Mr. Eadie seemed to be taking this quite seriously): "Oh dear, Rachel, kissing?"
Mr. Eadie: "Yes, Rachel was letting um, who was it Rachel?"
Rachel: "ummm, well, Aiden and Leo wanted to kiss me"
Mr. Eadie: "Yes, that's right, Aiden and Leo. So, we had a chat about how kissing is something that is great at home with moms and dads and brothers and sisters, but that it's not a good thing to do at school, right, Rachel?"
Rachel: "right"
Mr. Eadie: "and if someone tries to kiss you again, Rachel, what are you going to do?"
Rachel: "ummm, say stop?"
Mr. Eadie: "sure, and then you're going to come and tell me or Mrs. G., right?"
Rachel: "ok".
Mom: "Ok, well I'm sure Rachel won't let that happen again, right, Rachel?"
Rachel: "right".

All in a day's work.....let's hope this kissing habit stops before she turns 15!!!!

PS. Just a little addition to this story this morning....

My friend Natalie is picking Rachel up for school today, so, I told her "Natalie's going to pick you up and drop you off in the 'kiss and drop off' area and Hannah will walk you up".
(The kiss and drop off area is where parents can stop their car just for a few moments to let the kids out and then keep going).
So, Rachel says "oh, YES! I like going with Natalie, but she's CAN'T kiss me at the kiss and drop off area because there's NO KISSING AT SCHOOL!!".

Enjoy your day!

Too cute!!

You should really ask my sister-in-law, Vicki, about a VERY similar story about her little guy. Very funny also!

There is a book "Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten". When a boys wants to kiss you just say no. I hope my girls remember this rule for a very long time yet.
