Hi Everyone,
We received a call this afternoon that the friends of ours from our coffee group, had a fire in their home this morning. Thankfully, noone was home at the time, except for the family dog, Keeta. Unfortunately the firemen performed CPR on the dog when they arrived, but Keeta didn't make it. Please take a moment to pray for Al, Irene, Emily, and Alisa as they deal with the loss of their pet, their "stuff", and their home. The fire started in one of the bedrooms by fluke of a faulty wire in a lamp. Thankfully they had a number of neighbours who saw the smoke coming from the bedroom and were able to call for help quickly.
They have been on my mind all night. I can't imagine the stress of losing so much! Tomorrow is Alisa's birthday (15th I think!). Man, does that suck! Keeta was Alisa's dog and I'm sure she's feeling the loss of her pet.
I'm off to bed. Thankful I have one and reminded that God is a provider. Thankful that my friends are safe and sound and confident that God will take them through this. This will be one of those times there may only be one set of footprints in the sand, not because God's not there, but because He will carry them through this one.

Wow...scary stuff. I'll definitely be keeping them in our prayers. If you guys or anyone else are organizing something to help the family out, please let me know. I'd love to play a part in any way possible.
I'm glad that no one got harmed. We would also like to help, if there is anything that we can do or give, especially with Christmas just around the corner. Please let us know what we can do.
