Busy Weekend!

It's been a bit of a busy weekend and I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry, but it was worth it! It started off with Dave heading to our small group on Friday night and myself putting the girls to bed and cramming a last couple of hours of studying in for my Phase 1 Real Estate Exam. Saturday morning I did my exam at Conestoga College. Took pretty much the entire 3 hours! I should find out in the next few weeks how I did.

Saturday afternoon Dave and I dropped the kids off at Grandma and Grandpa W's for the night and we headed to Stradford to take in a play. First stop however was dinner at the Waterlot in New Hamburg. We would HIGHLY recommend it!! It was delish (as Miss Natalie would say). Roasted red pepper and tomato soup with goat cheese, and hazelnut pork tenderloin with glazed pears. YUM!

We checked in to our hotel giggling a bit on the way in. The exquisite Festival Inn is well.......not exactly the cream of the crop for Inns in Stradford. Dave had tried booking somewhere else but everything was booked up. A little advice....plan a few weeks ahead!! Thankfully our room was far enough away from the "Rock around the Clock dance with Dan E. Boy" (only $12!) that we didn't hear any noise. TOO Funny! I thought we were having a Derek moment! (Ask Derek about the hotel in Niagara on the Lake they stayed in, complete with Rat traps in the washroom!!).

Well, off we trekked to the Festival Theatre to see Twelfth Night. The story and acting was VERY good (directing a little less than perfect), overall very enjoyable. It was our first Shakespearean play to take in at the Stradford.

Sunday morning we went to church. Yes, even on our night away we felt we should go. Actually we had brunch at The Church Restaurant, an old renovated church complete with beautiful stained glass. It was lovely!

Then we did one of my favourite things to do....we shopped! Checked out the little stores along the main drag in Stradford. Even Dave seemed to ....or at least pretended to enjoy himself.

After spending the early part of the afternoon shopping we headed back to my parents' place to pick up the girls. Then off to Dave's parents place to say hi. Then we stepped in the door, emptied Dave's stuff from the suitcase, grabbed Rachel's stuff and off Rachel and I trekked to Wingham to help out Auntie Jennifer with Baby Brayden. Uncle Doug had to work overnight so Rachel and I helped Auntie Jen bathe Brayden and get caught up on laundry. Brayden is such a cutie! A real content baby so far! And he was so alert last night! Awake but content for a good hour!

Now we're back home and Uncle Doug and Auntie Jennifer are off to see the Dr. for Brayden's first check up. I'm sure he'll be back up to his birth weight and more!! He looks great! Rachel's off for a nap and I'm getting caught up on email and then off to start some laundry.

That's the scoop. Later!

As if you came to Wingham and didn't call me!!?
I guess I will forgive you this time, since it was to see that new little nephew of yours. He sure is a cutie...really does look like Doug eh?! (Now that Doug's head is swelled...) Vu had coffee with him last night and he says he is on holidays now. That is good, Jenn will have someone to do laundry and clean house for her!LoL
Call me next time!!!
