Well, after a few busy days I think I've finally gotten on top of things! The house is dusted, vacuumed, laundry almost caught up and I'm ACTUALLY cooking something for dinner. Phew.
I even got some reading in today. I'm re-reading a book by Donald Miller called "Blue Like Jazz - Non religious thought on Christian Spirituality". I first read the book last year when we were in Mexico and loved it. Now we're taking a look at it in our coffee group which is now becoming our 'bible study group'. Here's a link to Don's blog http://donmillerfans.net/ and to his book site http://www.donaldmillerwords.com/. Quite a fascinating book if you ever get a chance to read it. It's a different and fresh way of looking at Christianity and for me, a great reminder that we exist for others.
Yesterday at Madelyn and Lauren's school Pastor Darren spoke at their assembly. He encouraged the kids to get out of their comfort zone and get to know others who were differerent than themselves. Funny how a message meant for the kids can still be so relevant as an adult.
Today I was able to grab some Tim Horton's with another mom from Rachel's school, (after taking 20 JK/SK'ers skating!). She's Hindu and shared with me some of the many customs and 'punja's' (I think that's what they're called!) or ceremonies that they perform for various 'rites' in life. Yesterday she was at the Toronto Hindu temple to perform a 'punja' in honour of the death of her father which was almost a year ago. She's very open about her belief system which makes it that much easier to be open about my own.
Well, back to the grind. I'm off to finish up supper and get the girls at the bus stop.

I'm sure that was busy skating with all of those kids! Do they still skate behind chairs at that age?
